Rayne All-Stars place at area tournaments

Despite scattered rain showers, all-star teams were able to continue baseball and softball action for the 2014 Rayne Recreation Summer League all-star program.

Girls’ teams participated in the Sectional Tournament in Erath the weekend of June 28th with top teams moving onto Youngsville the 4th of July weekend for Regionals.

The Girls Pinto Gators and the Bronco Rippers both played well and qualified for Regionals.

The Mustang Rebels also qualified for Regionals but will not attend Regionals because of a short roster.

All boys’ teams traveled to Crowley for another warm-up tournament as they prepare for this weekend’s sectional tournaments.

The Boys Pinto Frog Sox was 3-0 for the weekend, while the Pinto Bombers went 2-1. Both squads will travel to Eunice this weekend for their Sectional Tournament.

In Mustang action, the Mustang Outlaws finished on a 3-0 note, while the Mustang Shockers - posted a 1-2 tally. Both squads will travel to Jennings this weekend for their Sectional Tournament.

The Bronco Rivals finished 2-1 in Crowley and will also travel to Eunice for their Sectional Tournament this weekend.
