Rayne Rec flag football, volleyball action

With the annual Rayne Recreation “SuperBowl” set for Saturday, Nov. 8, at Rayne High School, flag football season for Rayne youngsters is winding down.
From reports received from Rayne Recreation Director Dwayne Derise, team playoffs to determine league champions will take place on Nov. 1, also at Rayne High to conclude the regular season prior to the SuperBowl. Recent game results include:
Peanut League
Bears shut out the Falcons 8-0 with a Makai Thompson 40-yard interception return and a two-point PAT.
Packers shut out the 49’ers 8-0 with a 20-yard TD run by Gage Richard and a two-point PAT.
PeeWee League
The Eagles edged out the Bears 7-6. Caiden Meche connected with Gavin Gallett for a 18-yard TD reception, followed by a PAT with Caiden Meche pass to Kayton Cruz for a 7-0 lead. The Bears answered with a Avery Nation TD run but the PAT fell short for the Eagles’ win.
In a scoring bananza, the Packers took a 29-14 win over the Vikings. For the Packers, Dylan Judice scored on five-yard and 38-yard TD runs. John David Dupont ran in a 50-yard punt return for a score. Judice also connected with Dupont for a 18-yard TD pass. The Vikings saw Aiden Messina scored both touchdowns (5 and 50 yards).
The Falcons edged out the Redskins 14-12, the difference coming on a PAT. Scoring for the Falcons were Parker Faust on a 60-yard TD run and a 55-yard D run by Jackson Casanova. The Redskins were led by Grant Simon (48-yard TD run) and Wayland Jude Meche (30-yard TD run).
The 49’ers blanked the Broncos 6-0. Jayce Lantier scored the only points of the game on a 75-yard TD run.
