Two Crowley men charged with sex crimes
Two Crowley men have been arrest for unrelated sex crimes, which occurred over the past weekend, reports Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson.
The first investigation led to the arrest of Dreffus Byers III, 47, of Crowley, after police investigated a report of a missing person.
During the investigation, it was determined that the victim in this case was held against her will by Byers. The victim and Byers had been previously involved in a relationship. During the time of her being held against her will, the victim was forced to having sex with Byers by the means of physical force and threats of injury.
Byers was arrested without incident by Crowley Police and has been charged with forcible rape and second-degree kidnapping. He is currently being held in the Acadia Parish Jail.
The second investigation involved a report of incest.
The investigation revealed that an 11- year-old female was the victim of sexual acts by an adult family member within the home.
The evidence and facts of the case have led to the arrest of 27- year-old Merlin Comeaux of Crowley.
Comeaux has been arrested and charged with aggravatedincest. He has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
Comeaux is the father of the victim.
