UPDATE: Second person arrested in shooting case

Patrick Guillory was taken into custody just after noon Tuesday. He was arrested without incident and has since been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail. Guillory was charged with attempted first degree murder, home invasion, aggravated battery and violation of a restraining order.

Crowley Police have also arrested a second person involved in the shooting incident on JD Miller Dr. Police have arrested Lawrence Babineaux, 19, of Crowley. Babineaux was arrest this afternoon for principal to home invasion.

According to the investigation, Babineaux accompanied Guillory to the residence of the victim and was present while the home invasion by Guillory was completed. Babineaux did not report the crime to law enforcement nor did he attempt to stop the criminal act.

Babineaux has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.

Crowley Police are investigating an early morning shooting which has police searching for a Crowley man accused of pulling the trigger.

Crowley Police responded to a 911 call in the 1800 block of JD Miller Dr. shortly after 3:30 am. Officers discovered that a female had been shot multiple times by her estranged boyfriend. The victim was transported to a local hospital and was transferred to a Lafayette hospital due to her injuries. She is listed in critical condition.

The investigation thus far has revealed that the suspect went to the residence and forced his way into the residence. Once inside, a family member intervened as the victim fled the residence. The suspect pursued the victim outside of the residence, where she was shot multiple times.

The suspect is identified as Patrick Guillory, 22, of Crowley. Arrest warrants have been obtained for attempted first degree murder, home invasion, aggravated battery and violation of a restraining order. Guillory has not been taken into custody and should be considered armed and dangerous. Guillory is described as a black male, approximately 5’10” in height with a thin build.

“We are actively searching for Guillory and will continue our efforts until he is in our custody for these crimes,” stated Chief K.P. Gibson.

Department responded to a shooting at 1817 J.D. Miller Street in Crowley shortly after 4 a.m.

A young woman was shot twice by her boyfriend, once in the upper torso and once in the arm.

Police have identified Patrick Guillory as a person of interest. Guillory is on the run and police are in the process of obtaining a warrant for his arrest.

Police say Guillory entered through the back of the house, that's when the young woman ran out. Guillory chased her down the street and shots were fired.

She was transported to a Lafayette hospital with severe injuries.
