Joseph Burton "Baton" Briscoe

Church Point, La. –– Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Joseph Berton “Baton” Briscoe, 73. Mr. Briscoe, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 7:45 P.M. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with entombment following in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Church Point.

Survivors include one son, Skip Briscoe and adored companion Carla Andrus of Lafayette and an adopted son, Corey Briscoe of Church Point. He is also survived by his former adored daughter-in-law Judy Smith Briscoe of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Niky Briscoe, Leslie Briscoe and Juliana Briscoe; one great-grandchild, Abbi Comeaux; a sister, Myrtis Briscoe Bihm of Long Beach, California and three nephews, Randy Bihm, Ricky Bihm and George Kenny Briscoe.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Dixon.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and continue Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until the time of the services.

A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday.
