Lafayette wedding ceremony unites couple

Erin Renee Alesi became the bride of Necolas Joseph “Moose” Touchet of Rayne during a Nuptial Mass held the evening of Friday, May 8, 2009,

at St. Mary Mother of the Church in Lafayette with Rev. Gary Schexnayder as celebrant.

The bride is the daughter of Linda and Dr. G. Jerome Alesi. She is the granddaughter of Bertha and Mariano Alesi and Louella Grand Fuselier and the late J. David Fuselier, all of Lafayette. She is a graduate of St. Thomas More Catholic High School, College of Charleston, and Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She is currently undergoing her internal medicine residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, Va.

The groom is the son of Barbara and Timothy Touchet of Rayne. He is the grandson of Alberta Touchet and the late Joseph Touchet of Gueydan, and the late Frank and Vinis Potier, also of Gueydan. He is a graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and Louisiana State University in Eunice. He is currently employed as a neonatal and pediatric respiratory therapist at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, Va.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a sleeveless empire-styled dress featuring a high-waist sash from which flowed an A-line skirt. A hair comb held a fingertip veil of sheer illusion featuring a unique double-hemmed edging. She carried a bouquet of white roses, green hydrangea, green cymbidius and white phalaenopis orchids with a touch of lavender scabiosa and lizianthus blooms.

Matron of honor was Claire Alesi Dean, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Camille Banuchi, cousin of the bride, Julia Autin, and Morgan Angelle, friends of the bride. Flower girl was Kenzie Touchet, godchild and niece of the groom.

Best man was Timothy Touchet, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Jason Touchet and Kevin Touchet, brothers of the groom, and Brandon Worley, cousin of the groom. Ring bearer was Kyle Touchet, godchild and nephew of the groom.

Ushers were Courtney Vincent, brother-in-law of the groom, Christopher Dean, brother-in-law of the bride, and Joshua LeMaire. Program attendants were Jenny Touchet Vincent and Kerri Touchet, sisters of the groom.

Scripture passages were read by Jeanie Bergeron Newberg, Rachel Campos, and Karen Springmeyer, friends of the bride. Offertory gifts were presented by Barbara Ringham, godmother of the bride, and Ellen Hebert, aunt of the groom. Martha F. LeFevre, aunt of the bride, served as Eucharistic Minister.

Following the wedding, a reception was held at the Lafayette Natural History Museum and Planetarium.

After returning from a wedding trip to Maui, the couple will reside in Richmond, Virginia.
