Hilary Anne Villien becomes Mrs. Joey B. Wynn

LAFAYETTE - Hilary Anne Villien and Joey Bascom Wynn were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Friday, the first day of July of 2016, during a Nuptial Mass celebrated at seven o’clock in the evening by the Reverend Howard Blessing.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Joseph Villien of Maurice. Mrs. Villien is the former Vanessa Dalfrey of Lafayette. Hilary is a 2007 graduate of North Vermilion High School and a 2012 graduate of The University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a bachelor of education degree in elementary education. She currently teaches at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Scott.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Wallace Wynn Jr. of Rayne. Mrs. Wynn is the former Mayme Bonin of Rayne, Louisiana. Joey is a 2006 graduate of Rayne High School and a 2011 graduate of The University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is currently employed at Rayne State Bank.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore and elegant fit and flare gown designed by Casablanca. The timeless gown was a creation of beautiful beaded lace appliques on Chantilly lace over champagne soft tulle. The dress featured a classic sweetheart neckline and cap sleeves. Delicate eyelash fringes adorned the entire front and deep back neckline, and the gown was finished with a charming semi-cathedral train. The bride chose to complete her look with a stunning two tier, fold over cathedral veil with Chantilly lace trim. For her bouquet, she chose a combination of vendela, amnesia, and remembrance roses, accented with silver dollar eucalyptus to create a bohemian-style bouquet wrapped with lace from her mother’s bridal gown.
To remember members of the bride’s family both present on the day and those past on, items selected by the bride for her wedding day were a garter made from her mother’s wedding dress, a rosary given to her by her maternal grandmother intertwined in her bouquet, an embroidered handkerchief from her paternal grandmother held by the bride, and fabric wrapped around the bridesmaids’ bouquets from a piece of her sister’s pearl dress in a previous wedding.
The bride was attended by her matrons of honor, Naomie Guilbeau Fitzgerald and Kristen Toups Vondenstein, who were both sorority sisters of the bride in college.
As an honorary maid of honor, the bride had her sister Angela Christine Villien remembered for the ceremony.
Junior attendant to the bride was Annie Claire Hoyt, cousin of the bride.
Attendants wore gowns of different shades of mocha chiffon.
Lainey Catherine Wynn, niece of the groom, served as flower girl wearing a white chiffon formal gown with a large satin bow at the waist.
The groom was attended by his brothers who served as best men, William Wallace Wynn III and Andrew John Wynn.
William Scott Wynn, nephew of the groom, served as ring bearer.
Serving as ushers were George Ellis Blount and Jack Anthony Bonin, uncles of the groom.
Male attendants each wore a traditional classic black tuxedo with a pear rose boutonniere.
For the Nuptial Mass, the bride and groom choose to deliver the readings to their guests as lectors for their celebration of marriage.
Serving as gift bearers were Alida Villien Kirtley, godmother of the bride, and Sharen Wynn, godmother of the groom.
Program attendants were Kennedy Claire Trahan, Alex Renee Hoyt and Avery Kate Hoyt, cousins of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Vermilion Room at River Oaks in Lafayette. The reception was elegantly decorated with cut glass crystal table decorations adorned with mercury glass votive candles on mirrored boxes for a romantic vintage look.
Following their honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Rayne.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held the evening of Thursday, June 30, in the Camilla Room at River Oaks in Lafayette. The special event was hosted by the groom’s parents.
