UPDATE: Hanks found

UPDATE: The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office has alerted the media that Michael Hanks has been located.

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 24-year-old Crowley man who walked away from residence Wednesday afternoon shortly after 4 p.m. 

According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon, Michael Keith Hanks is mentally challenged and was last seen at his residence located in the 9100 block of South Louisiana Highway 13 near Crowley. 

Hanks is wearing a light green shirt, black shorts, 5 feet 8 inches in height and weighs approximately 235 pounds and could possibly be carrying a black LSU back pack with electronic equipment. Mode of travel is unknown. 

Anyone seeing or knowing the whereabouts of Hanks is asked to call the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office at 788-8700.
