Acadiana Swamp Gators set tryouts, camp

The Acadiana Swamp Gators will have football tryouts for all 11-13 year olds on Monday, June 1, for the upcoming 2015 football season.
Tryouts will be held at 6 p.m. at the Rayne High School stadium for all youngsters in Acadiana.
The Swamp Gators will also host a football camp on Saturday, June 13, at Rayne High School between the hours of 2-6 p.m. for youngsters in grades 4-8. There will be a $20 camp fee and no campers will be accpeted after 2:10 p.m.
The Acadiana Swamp Gators Youth Football Program was created to promote an ongoing youth football program in the Acadiana area to give youth an alternative to the troubles of street life.
The program’s main goal is to build character, self discipline, and integrity to inspire athletes with the ideals of respect, hard work, sportsmanship and physical fitness, regardless of race, color, gender or ability “if you believe it you can achieve it.” This is accomplished by improving the athlete’s life skills, as well as their football abilities.
All participants are afforded the opportunity to improve these life skills through academics, friendship, teamwork, commitment, sportsmanship, loyalty, honesty, responsibility, self-discipline and pride with the fundamentals of football. This mission has been established not only to teach these athletes how to experience success on the football field, but how to become responsible, self-sufficient adults who contribute to their community.
