Shaun Edwin “Odie” Mallet

 

It is with sadness and regret that the family of Shaun Edwin “Odie” Mallet announces his passing from this life on April 22, 2014, at the age of 34. He died with his mother and brother at his side at Longmont United Hospital in Longmont, Colorado, where he was residing.

Shaun was born in Humble, Texas, on Dec. 8, 1979, to Shellie Mallet. He was working as a data technician/customer service representative at Career Connections in Longmont. In addition to Longmont, Shaun spent several happy years in Estes Park, Colorado, where he was loved and will be missed by many. He also lived in Norman, Oklahoma; Dallas, Texas; Morse and various other locations throughout his life. He enjoyed discovering the country and lived a nomadic lifestyle.

Shaun had many interests and hobbies, including computers and electronics, music, creative writing, and different art forms including mosaic tiling. He also wrote freelance magazine articles and was developing and collecting recipes for a cookbook. He collected piggy banks and Dr. Who memorabilia.

Shaun leaves behind to remember and love him his mother, Rachelle “Shellie” Mallet-Jennings of Beaumont, Texas; his brother, Tristan Patrick Mallet, also currently of Beaumont; his godfather, Rowan  Mallet of Beaumont; and many other cherished family members.  He is also survived by many friends he held dear to his heart.

He is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother,  Rita K. Guillot; his grandfather, C.J. “Rambler” Mallet Jr.; and his godmother, Pamela M. Walker.

Shaun will be laid to rest at Hanks Cemetery in Morse on Saturday, June 7, at 1 p.m. Immediately following, everyone is invited to attend a gathering of family and friends for reflection and celebration of Shaun’s life to be held at the home of Oldon “Shorty” Guillot, 1088 S.
