Patrick Bernard

Funeral services for Mr. Patrick Bernard, 56, were held on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in Duhon Funeral Home Chapel. Father Kendal Faulk officiated.

Interment followed in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery #2.

Mr. Bernard passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at his Duson residence.

A native of Lafayette and longtime resident of Duson, Mr. Bernard was a graduate of Acadiana High School. He had worked at various jobs in the oilfield. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Francisca G. Bernard of Duson; daughters, Anita Solano of Duson, and Ramona Rooker and husband, Brien, of Anacoca, LA; sons, Sean Bernard and wife, Jay, of Mire, Anthony Solano of Youngsville, and Miguel Solano of Duson; mother and step-father, Mary Ellen and Joseph Picard of Mire; sister, Dianne Bernard of Mire; brothers, Gerald Bernard and wife, Marian, of Lafayette, and Carrol Picard and wife, Ruth, of Church Point; 11 grandchildren; 8 nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Proceeding Mr. Bernard in death were his father, Emery Bernard; and son, Christopher Bernard.

Visitation was Wednesday, December 7, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. until service time in Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.
