Coming off an up and down session last week, the Lady Wolves Volleyball Team had another week of hills and valleys as they split their final two district games of the 2013 season.

On Tuesday, Rayne hosted Northside for their last regular contest of the season when senior team members were  honored.

Seniors honored were Mary Peltier, Sidney Fontenot, Mia Guidry, Haley Comeaux, Taylor Arceneaux, Ni’esha Domingue, Allison Arceneaux and Abbie Duhon.

The senior squad ended their last campaign with a 3-1 win over the Lady Vikings.

The win gives the Lady Wolves a solid third place finish in District 3 of Division 3 and a No. 8 seeding heading into the playoffs.

Playoff pairings will be announced Nov. 4th, with the first round slated to begin Nov. 7th. The State Volleyball Tournament will once again be held Nov. 14-16 at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner.

Last week during a road contest against district leader Teurlings, the Lady Wolves dropped a three-set match to the Lady Rebels (16-25, 12-25, 21-25).

Net play was limited for the Lady Wolves. Leading stats were Niesha Domingue and Charlesha Dugas each with five kills, Charlyne Peltier with four, and one each by Taylor Arceneaux and Katie Benoit.

Peltier also recorded two blocks for the lady Wolves, followed by Arceneaux and Domingue each with one apiece.

The offense was led by Layni Boudreaux and Mia Guidry with 10 and 8 assists, respectively.

On defense, Haley Comeaux had 7 digs while Mary Peltier, Katie Benoit and Sidney Fontenot recorded 6 digs each.

The Lady Wolves were slated to meet Sacred Heart of Grand Coteau yesterday (Wednesday) during the annual “Pink” volleyball game with proceeds to benefit cancer research.
