Touchet, Broussard united in marriage

LAFAYETTE – Stacey Nicole Touchet and Jason Michael Broussard were united in marriage on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette. Father Howard Blessing officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Harry Touchet of Meaux, La. and Jeanne Ryder Touchet of Lafayette. She is the maternal granddaughter of Eugenia Ryder and the late Warren Ryder. Her paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Dulpha Touchet.

Stacy graduated from North Vermilion High School in 2003 and she is currently employed by MedSource Home Health Care in Lafayette.

Michael Broussard is the son of Jules and Marie Foret Broussard of Crowley. He is the maternal grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. James Foret, Sr. and the paternal grandson of C. L. Broussard and Eugenia LeBlanc, also both deceased.

The groom is a 2000 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish. He graduated in 2002 from the LSU-Fire and Emergency Training Institute and he is currently employed by Crowley Fire Department as a driver.

On November 5, a rehearsal dinner honoring the engaged couple was held at the Blue Dog Cafe in Lafayette. It was hosted by the parents of the groom.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless satin ball gown with beaded embroidery, beaded bodice pickup and a cathedral train. Her grandmother’s pearl necklace adorned Stacey’s neck representing “something old.” Her wedding dress was new and she borrowed a diamond bracelet from her sister. Her bridal shoes represented the tradition of “something blue.”

Musical selections were performed for the guests by organist Susan Comeaux.

The maid of honor was Sheila Hardy, sister of the bride. Her bridal attendants were Cindy Huval and Stephanie Doucet, both sisters if the bride, and Robin Schexnayder and LaKayla Stelly, both friends of the bride.

Best man was Andre’ Broussard, the groom’s brother. Groomsmen were Eric Boudreaux, Jason Schmaltz, Garrick Ronkartz and Bryan Quibodeaux, all friends of Michael. Ushers were nephews of the bride, Chase Hardy and Layne Hardy.

Friend of the couple, Ella Schmaltz served as flower girl, and Mason Hargrave, son of the bride, served as ring bearer. Uncles of the groom, Mr. James Foret and Bill Broussard read the scripture and the offertory gifts were brought up by Fran Lafluer, godmother of the groom; Lula Mae Theriot, aunt of the bride, and Joyce Campbell, godmother of the bride.

The reception celebration immediately followed the wedding at the Erath Community Center. The godmother of the bride, Joyce Cropell served the bride’s cake. The groom’s cake was served by Fran Lafluer, godmother of the groom.

After a honeymoon to New Orleans, the couple will reside in Meaux.
