PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the 41st Anniversary of the National Fair Housing Law, Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 is an occasion for all Americans -individually and collectively - to rededicated themselves to the principle of freedom from housing discrimination whenever it exists; and
WHEREAS, a fair housing law has been passed by the state of Louisiana, and implementation of the law requires the positive commitment, involvement, and support of each of our citizens; and
WHEREAS, barriers that diminish the rights and limit the options of any citizen to freely choose a home will ultimately diminish the rights and limit the options of all.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE Richland Parish Police Jury of Richland Parish, do hereby proclaim April 2009 as

BE IT ORDAINED, the Richland Parish Police Jury establishes a 35 miles per hour speed limit sign on the entire length of the Watson Road.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RICHLAND PARISH PRESIDENT TO ENTER INTO THE REQUIRED COOPERATIVE ENDEAVOR AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF LOUISIANA, DIVISION OF ADMINISTRATION, OFFICE OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT—DISASTER RECOVERY UNIT TO SECURE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) DISASTER RECOVERY FUNDS; AND, TO AUTHORIZE THE RICHLAND PARISH PRESIDENT TO SIGN ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS REQUIRED IN THE SUBMISSION OF THE REQUIRED APPLICATIONS AND SUBSEQUENT ADMINISTRATION OF THE PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Richland Parish Police Jury will be required to enter into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the Division of Administration, Office of Community Development - Disaster Recovery Unit in order to secure Community Development Block Grant Funds for the Parish, and,
WHEREAS, the Richland Parish Police Jury will submit the required applications to the Louisiana Division of Administration, Office of Community Development—Disaster Recovery Unit to secure its appropriation of” Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Disaster Recovery funding; and
WHEREAS, implementation, of the program requires completion of the required applications and subsequent administration of the grant program in accordance with all CDBG regulations, and
WHEREAS, the submission of the application and subsequent administration of the grant program requires the execution of numerous forms and documents
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Richland Parish Police Jury that, acting Parish President, Jessie Washington, be hereby authorized to enter into the required Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the LA Division of Administration, Office of Community Development— Disaster Recovery Unit to secure Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Disaster Recover funds and to sign any and all documents required in the submission of the required applications and subsequent administration of the program.
