Roy, Doucet arrested in Iota theft

Deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s have arrested two individuals following an investigation into a theft that was reported at a residence in the 600 block of McMillan Avenue in Iota on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon, investigators with the sheriff’s office were contacted by the Iota Police Department who reported the incident. 

Following a brief investigation, investigators arrested Travis Roy, 23, of South First Street in Iota. Roy was charged with principal to theft and felon in possession of a firearm. 

Also arrested was Claire Doucet, 27, of Sill Drive in Rayne. She was charged with misdemeanor theft and soliciting prostitution. No bond has been set at this time.

As the investigation continues and additional charges are expected.
