Audrey Hebert and Ryan Richard unite at St. Michael’s

CROWLEY - Cecil and Deborah Hebert and Ronnie and Janet Richard are pleased to announce the marriage of their respective daughter and son.

Audrey Elizabeth Hebert of Egan and Ryan Riley Richard of Opelousas were married on August 27. Father Jared Suire officiated the 7 p.m. nuptial mass at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Crowley.

The storybook wedding began with Alberta Lyons playing the organ and Tommy Benoit playing the violin. Kasey LeJeune, cousin of the bride, sang vocals. The processional began.

Then, as the bride entered, she was escorted by her father. Audrey wore an exquisite, slim, A-line strapless ivory gown with a sweetheart neckline which featured a corset enclosure. The gown was draped in luxurious Valentina satin that ruched around the bodice and rippled elegantly into the skirt. An elegant bow at the waist added to the sophistication of the glamorously jeweled banded waist. Her two-tiered fingertip ivory veil featured a rhinestone edge, adding a soft glamour and light, complementing the jeweled banded waist of the bride’s gown.

She carried a natural handheld bouquet of blush pink and ivory roses with “majolica” pink spray roses and ivory satin wrapped stems accented with elegant rhinestone beading.

In keeping with tradition, lace from her mother, Deborah’s wedding veil was entwined in the bridal bouquet, representing “something old.” Audrey’s wedding dress was “something new.” She borrowed her maternal grandmother and namesake, Audrey Truax’s pearl rosary, which was blessed by Pope Benedict. The bride’s garter represented “something blue.”

The bride is the maternal granddaughter of Shelby and Audrey Truax of Egan. She is the paternal granddaughter of the late Marcus and Verda Hebert.

She is a 2005 graduate of Iota High School. Audrey is a 2010 Summa Cum Laude graduate of University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. She is presently attending Our Lady of the Lake College in pursuit of a master’s degree in physician assistant studies.

The groom is the paternal grandson of the late Charles and Jackie Richard. His maternal grandparents are Joseph and Hazel Riley of Opelousas.

Ryan is a 2005 graduate of Opelousas High School and a 2010 graduate of ULL with a degree in marketing and business administration. He is presently employed at LHC Family Fitness Center in Opelousas.

The mother of the bride, the former Deborah Truax, entered in a black evening pant suit with a silver and black sequin top. A porcelana rose corsage completed her look.

The mother of the groom, the former Janet Riley, chose a formal champagne multi-tiered dress embellished with rhinestone accents. She also wore a porcelana rose corsage.

Bridal attendants were Ashley Pousson, cousin of the bride; Dawn Cheatham Lemieux and Amber Thibodeaux, friends of the bride; and Renee Richard, sister of the groom. Avery Wyble, niece of the groom, was junior bridesmaid.

Next entered the maid of honor, Candace “K.K.” Johnson, who is the best friend of the bride.

The bridesmaids were elegant in their short satin Malibu blue dress with a rounded neck, pleated bust and ruching at the waist. Their small clutch bouquets consisted of orange spray roses, purple lisianthus and magenta, orange and yellow gerbera daisies with satin tied natural stems.

The groomsmen were Jonathan Richard, brother of the groom; Shawn Fontenot, friend of the groom; and Coby Hebert, brother of the bride. Wesley Wyble, nephew of the groom, served as junior groomsman.

Ross Richard, twin brother of the groom, was best man.

Averie Johnson, godchild of the bride, was the lovely flower girl.

Zachary Miller, second cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.

Serving as ushers were David Savoie, friend of the groom; Berch Sylvester, first cousin of the groom; and Kyle Thibodeaux, friend of the groom.

Before the double ring ceremony, the scripture was presented to the guests by Gerri Pousson, godmother of the bride and Carl Riley, godfather of the groom.

After the vows were recited, offertory gifts were delivered to the altar by Emily Laurich, friend of the bride and groom and Andrew Riley, cousin of the groom.

A festive reception was celebrated at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn in Rayne.

The bridal cake, a four-tiered cake iced in vanilla butter cream, was finished with iridescent pearl spray. The cake was filled with various fillings which included strawberry and cream cheese, butter pecan and chocolate caramel. The cake was garnished with a dozen fresh porcelana and pink blush roses. The letter “R” adorned the top of the cake.

The groom’s cake was a delicacy. The two-tiered cake was iced in chocolate butter cream glazed in fudge and garnished with chocolate covered strawberries. The top tier was filled with Reese’s peanut butter cup filling, while the bottom tier was filled with a chocolate banana filling. Sitting atop the cake was a hand-sculpted fondant replica of the couple’s pet beagle, “Marley.”

Out of town guests traveled from Nederland, Texas; Elgin, Texas; Missouri City, Texas; Spring, Texas; Houston, Texas; Birmingham, Ala.; Hattiesburg, Miss.; Lake Charles; Monroe; Shreveport and Baton Rouge.

A rehearsal dinner was held August 26 at 7 p.m. at Chef Roy’s in Rayne. Hosted by the groom’s parents, guests enjoyed salad, rolls and their choice of stuffed chicken breast, crawfish fettuccine or seafood platter.
