Mr. and Mrs. John (Elena) Melancon of Rayne are announcing the birth of a daughter, Kora Lea, born Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Lafayette.  

At birth, she weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces, and measured 20.5 inches in length.

Mrs. Melancon is the former Elena Marie Kibodeaux, daughter of Ida Kibodeaux of Rayne and the late Russell Kibodeaux, maternal grandparents.

Paternal grandparents are John and Connie Melancon of Church Point.

Godparents are Matthew Richard and Rusti Richard, both of Rayne.

Kora is also welcomed by two brothers, Julian and Cullen, and one sister, Eva.
