Brielle G. Theriot marries Eric J. Broussard

CANCUN, Mexico - The beautiful Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico, was the perfect setting for the Thursday, June 13, Nuptial Mass uniting Brielle Geneé Theriot and Eric John Broussard, both of Carencro. Father Hubert Reiner officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Nanette and Michael Jody Theriot of St. Martinville. Her maternal grandparents are Linton Hulin of St. Martinville and the late Arlene Hulin. Her paternal grandparents are Michael Allen Theriot of St. Martinville and the late Rose Theriot.

Brielle is a graduate of St. Martinville Senior High and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s College of Education. She is presently employed as a fourth grade teacher with the St. Landry Parish School Board.

The groom is the son of Cecelia B. and Garrick Chambers and the late David L. Broussard, all of Crowley. His maternal grandparents are the late Mae and Arick Simon, and Bobbie and Noble Chambers, all of Crowley. His paternal grandparents are Addie S. Broussard and the late LeRoy L. Broussard, also of Crowley.

Eric graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish before attending South Louisiana Community College, where he obtained an Associate of Science degree. He is currently employed by Blue Fin Services in Broussard.

The altar was adorned with white flowers, as was a photograph of the deceased groom’s father.

Selected scriptures were read by Kolt Chauvin, friend of the bride and Jeneé B. Broussard, sister-in-law of the groom.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was gorgeous in an elegant, full-length one shoulder gown in diamond white satin. The single shoulder strap was adorned with a self-fabric flower embellished with crystals, and the gown’s horizontal ruching created a slim, fitted silhouette. The back of the dress was finished with a classic corset enclosure and a pleated chapel-length train.

During the ceremony, Brielle wore a fingertip veil affixed with a crystal-appliquéd clip. For the reception, she selected a white flower embellished with white feathers and a crystal-appliquéd center.

The bride carried a clutch bouquet of deep purple and bright green cut flowers with hand-tied stems wrapped in purple ribbon. The bride’s great-grandmother’s brooch was pinned to the ribbon, and her grandmother’s rosary was entwined in the bouquet.

In order to ensure good luck in her marriage to Eric, Brielle incorporated all of the traditional items into her attire. The brooch pinned to her bouquet was “something old;” a diamond necklace given to her by her father was “something new;” the rosary entwined in her bouquet was “something borrowed;” and her mother’s turquoise rosary was “something blue.”

Meghan C. Myers, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Christi B. Trahan and Michelle Courville, friends of the bride, and Lori V. Broussard, sister-in-law of the groom.

Each of the bridal attendants wore a short dress of amethyst chiffon in a different style.

They carried miniature versions of the bride’s bouquet with stems wrapped in gray ribbons.

The matron of honor’s bouquet was distinguished by a second brooch belonging to the bride’s great-grandmother.

Marcus W. Broussard, brother of the groom, served as best man. Kenneth N. Broussard, brother of the groom; Brook Theriot, brother of the bride; and Cody Myers, friend of the groom, stood as groomsmen.

Wesley David Broussard, the groom’s godchild and nephew, served as ring bearer.

For her daughter’s wedding day, the mother of the bride, the former Nanette Hulin, selected a beautiful strapless gown made of Jasper luminescent taffeta. It’s paper bag waist was accented by a plum ribbon.

The mother of the groom, the former Cecelia Simon Broussard, chose a gray sheath dress featuring a gorgeous lace overlay sprinkled with silver sequins and finished with a scalloped hem. A matching lace jacket completed the look.

Out-of-town guests travelled from various points throughout Louisiana.

On the evening prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents, Cecelia and Garrick Chambers, hosted a rehearsal dinner at Bugambilia’s Restaurant at the Moon Palace. Guests at the dinner enjoyed a variety of Mexican cuisine.

Following their wedding, the couple is residing in Carencro.
