Father and Daughter

Father and daughter, Sgt. Philip Mollere and his 20-year-old daughter Pfc. Mallory Mollere, both in the Louisiana Nationl Guard, recently spent three weeks in Germany with their units, the 843rd, 205th, Engineer Battalions, from Franklinton, Louisiana. Father and daughter were both deployed for hurricanes Gustav and Ike. They have recently returned to their jobs in Covington, where they live.

Sgt. Mollere, also a veteran of Desert Storm, spent 10 years in the Marines and was assigned to Weapons Company 3/23 Marines, out of Baton Rouge.

Pfc. Mallory Mollere's job in the National Guard is as a mechanic and is currently enrolled in Hammond Technical Collge where she is pursuing a career as a mechanic. Pfc. Mollere is the first woman to win the Toyota Scholarship for Mechanics.

Sgt. Philip Mollere is the son of Pat Mollere, of Zachary, and the late Triche Mollere. He is the grandson of Gloria Anding. Pfc. Mallory Mollere is the granddaughter of Pat Mollere and the late Triche Mollere. She is the great-granddaughter of Gloria Anding, of Zachary.
