Lady Pios top Catholic of New Iberia in league finale

CROWLEY – The Notre Dame Lady Pios closed out their district slate with a 3-0 volleyball victory over Catholic of New Iberia Tuesday at A.B. Dore Gym.
The Lady Pios improved to 32-5 on the season and finished league play with a perfect 8-0 record.
Grace Morgan and Anne Faulk controlled the action at the net by combining for 15 kills on the night. Morgan racked up eight kills to go along with two digs and three blocks. Faulk added seven kills, and four digs.
Sam Lyons added five kills, 14 assists and one ace while Alex Miller had four kills, 14 assists and three aces.
Also contributing were Lindsey Meyer (3 kills, 11 digs), Laura Schmid (2 kills, 1 dig), Alli Daigle (17 digs, 1 ace) and Gabbie Romero (4 digs, 1 ace).
The Lady Pios will close out the regular season when they participate in the Episcopal School of Acadiana (ESA) Spooktacular this weekend. They will take on St. Joseph on Friday at 3:30 and Ben Franklin at 4:30 p.m. They will close out tournament play on Saturday with games against John Curtis (10 a.m.) and Central Catholic (11 a.m.).
