Rayne High Wolves host wrestling tournament

Rayne High School hosted  the 2013 Annual David Jennings/Anthony McCrory/Jason Petitjean Tournament held at the RHS north gym.

In pool play, the following action was contested:

Pool A: Rayne defeated St. Thomas More 39-18, Rayne defeated Comeaux 48-30, Rayne defeated Lafayette 47-30, St. Michael’s defeated Rayne 40-36, St. Michael’s defeated Lafayette 40-24, St. Michael’s defeated St. Thomas More 45-24.

Pool B: St. Louis defeated Church Point 54-24, St. Louis defeated Teurlings 55-18, St. Louis defeated Basile 54-30, North Vermillion defeated St. Louis 48-27, North Vermillion defeated Church Point 78-6, North Vermillion defeated Teurlings 68-6, North Vermillion defeated Basile 54-24.

In the championship round, North Vermillion defeated St. Michael’s 60-18 and St. Louis defeated Rayne 45-27.

Final standings were: 1st Place North Vermillion, 2nd St. Michael’s, 3rd St. Louis and 4th Rayne High.

Members of the Rayne High wrestling team are Megan Marcantel, Latavia Cormier, Tori Carriere, Claire Menard, Emily Dupont, Victoria Richard, Briley Leon, Dayton Constantin, Pappy Manuel, Matt Credeur, Shelby Thibodeaux, Dean Nolan, Morgan Manuel, Timmi Bruce, Andrew Chiasson, Tyler Louviere, Cooper Bourque, Drake Constantin, Jacob Hebert, Kody Mahfouz, Reece Faucheux, Anthony Seaux, Hunter Adkins, Tanner Leger, Mason Benoit, Richard Dwyer, Cody Kibodeaux, Trenton Richard, Casey Henry, Trevor Young, Cooper Simon, Hunner Seaux, Adrew Arceneaux, Trevor Carriere, Brennan Fontenot, Cody Manuel and Dwight Seaux.

Thanks to the following wrestling supporters: Smoothies N More, M&M Sales/Canteen, Frog City Travel Plaza, Bayou Silk Screening, and all the family and friends of the wrestling team for making the tournament a success.

The Wolves will have a holiday break then travel to Acadiana on Jan. 4th before returning home to host Church Point on Jan. 8th.
