Wolves, Ladies begin district play

The Wolves and Lady Wolves began district play on a split note.

The Lady Wolves opened district play on Friday with a 61-56 win over Beau Chene.

Leading Rayne High stats was Whitley Larry who dumped in 16 points while recording 7 blocks, 6 rebounds and a steal.

Completing stats for the win were Tori Carriere (16 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals) and Charlesha Dugas (15 points, 5 rebounds, 6 steals).

The Lady Wolves cored their second district win Friday as they out-scored Opelousas, 48-28. 

Tori Carriere led Rayne stats with 13 points, 2 rebounds and a block.

Helping the Lady Wolves for the win were Tristan Mouton (10 pts.), Whitley Larry (7 pts.), and six points by Charlesha Dugas and Cierra Harmon.

The Lady Wolves were slated to meet  Washington-Marion and LaGrange this week for additional district play.

The Wolves were scheduled to begin district this week with a home contest against Washington-Marion and a road game at LaGrange Friday.

In Friday action, the Wolves dropped their last non-district contest to Abbeville by the skin of their teeth, 72-70.

Byron Mouton led Rayne scorers with 24 points, followed closely by Donracus with 17 and Drakkar Broussard with 15.
