Shower honoree Laura Gilder Boudreaux and her mother, Corinne Gilder

Bridal shower held for Laura Boudreaux

On Saturday, June 27, Laura Gilder Boudreaux’s family and friends hosted an old-fashioned bridal shower to celebrate Laura’s then-pending marriage to Brent Edward Boudreaux.
The 2 p.m. shower was held at the Mermentau residence of Tiffany and Kody Istre and was co-hosted by Mary Claire Gilder, Raime Thibodeaux, Ella Abshire, Tiffany Istre, Caroline Boudreaux, Lori Richard, Devon Smith, Monica Serrette and Erin Fontenot.
For the occasion, Laura selected a navy and white printed dress. The mother of the bride wore a black, taupe and cream printed dress.
Both Laura and her mother were presented corsages of pink rose buds with gold baby’s breath and cream ribbon.
The Istre residence was decorated in the bride’s chosen wedding colors of navy, gold and cream, and arrangements of fresh cream hydrangeas were placed throughout. Various types of initial “B’s” were used as decorations and then given to the betrothed couple to be hung in their new home.
The approximately 20 guests on hand for the event enjoyed chicken salad sandwiches, assorted dips, cheese and fruit platters, meatballs and homemade crawfish and artichoke dip. They also enjoyed a variety of sweets including gourmet cupcakes with fresh raspberry filling.
The bride is the daughter of Corrine and Galen Gilder of Crowley. She is the granddaughter of the late Hollis and Halcyon Gilder Sr. of Hahnville, and of the late Eunice and Wilbur Rabalais of Simmesport.
The groom is the son of Glen Boudreaux of Rayne and the late Nellie Boudreaux. He is the grandson of the late Leora and Paul Lejeune, and of Edward Boudreaux and the late Bernice Boudreaux, all of Rayne.
The couple was wed on the afternoon of Saturday, July 25, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Rayne.
