Cajun French Music Association offers scholarship

The Cajun French Music Association (CFMA), Acadiana Charter Chapter, has announced that it will award a $500 scholarship to a deserving student for the coming school year.

Applicants are required to compose a 500-word essay telling the organization what they know about Cajun culture and why they should be awarded the scholarship.

The scholarship will be paid in two sums, $250 for the fall semester and $250 for the spring semester.

The deadline to apply is Aug. 4.

Candidates may mail their information and essays to CFMA, P.O. Box 1427, Eunice, 70535. Candidates may also deliver them in person at the Aug. 4 CFMA monthly meeting at the Northwest Community Center.
