Michael David Collier, Jr. and Amber Elaine Harris

Harris, Collier set to be married Aug. 1

 

Randy and Vanessa Harris of Crowley are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Amber Elaine Harris, to Michael David Collier Jr. of Baton Rouge.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary J. Benoit of Crowley, and Ralph and Ann Harris of Lakeview, Ohio, and the late Doris Elaine McGilvary Harris.

Amber graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in 2006 before attending Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene in 2011. She is presently employed by Dr. Kenneth Guilbeau, D.D.S., as a dental hygienist.

The prospective groom is the son of Mike and Cindy Collier of Baton Rouge. He is the grandson of Mrs. Dolores Collier and the late B.D. Collier, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Waguespack Sr., all of Baton Rouge.

Michael is a 2004 graduate of Bishop Sullivan High School in Baton Rouge. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management from Louisiana State University, and he is currently employed as a construction planner for Petra Consultants, Inc., in Lafayette.

The couple will wed on Friday, Aug. 1, at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette. Rev. Chester Arceneaux will officiate the 7 p.m. service.

Following their marriage, the couple will reside in Lafayette.
