Mrs. John William Thomson

Persac, Thomson exchange vows in Baton Rouge

 

Elizabeth Whitney Persac and John William Thomson were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony at St. Joseph Cathedral in Baton Rouge on Friday, July 11. Father Michael Collins officiated at the 7 p.m. ceremony.  A reception followed at The City Club of Baton Rouge.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Denson Persac of Baton Rouge. She is the granddaughter of Senator and Mrs. Gerald Joseph Theunissen of Jennings and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Joseph Persac Jr. of Baton Rouge. The bride, whose mother is the former Miss Terry Theunissen of Jennings, is an alumna of St. Joseph’s Academy and Louisiana State University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing. She is director of communications and donor relations at Our Lady of the Lake Foundation.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Richard Kevin Moody and Mr. George Bell Thomson Jr. of Lafayette. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles William Chappuis of Rayne and Mrs. George Bell Thomson and the late Mr. Thomson of Franklin. The groom, whose mother is the former Miss Tracy Chappuis of Rayne, graduated from St. Thomas More Catholic High School and Louisiana State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management. He is a project manager with Thomson Brothers Construction.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a floor-length silk dupioni fit-to-flare gown with an Italian Alençon lace bodice and elegant sweetheart neckline. The back of the gown, with its sweeping chapel-length train, was adorned with covered buttons. The bride’s veil was a cathedral-length family heirloom bordered in handmade Irish lace.

The bride was attended by her matron of honor and sister, Taylor Persac Gulotta. Bridesmaids were Molly Elizabeth Capella, Lauren Fourroux D’Amico, Katherine Moody McCormick, Camille Bernard Moody, Annalane Brogdon Owens, Caroline Moody Soileau and Britany Lynn Viguerie. Flower girls for the ceremony were Amelia Grace McCormick, Elizabeth Jeanne McCormick, Camille Caroline Soileau, Madeline Claire Soileau and Olivia Jeanne Soileau.Ring bearer was Andrew Davison McCormick.

The groom was attended by his best man and brother, Michael George Thomson. Groomsmen were Nicholas Paul Abshire, Ryan Trent Armbruster, Brandt Elliott Etier, Mark-Allen Goodyear Jr., Benjamin Armstrong Moody, Stewart Lynn Stover III, James Hunter Sturlese and Andrew Brett Stokes Jr. Ushers for the ceremony were Miles Deano Foreman, John Cullen Gulotta, Richard Kevin Moody II and Scott Pierce Thomson.

Following a honeymoon to the British Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Lafayette.
