Rayne bridal shower fêtes Andre Lyons

Andre Lyons of Crowley, bride-elect of Cody Bruce of Rayne, was fêted with a traditional bridal shower at the Fireman’s Hall in Rayne on the afternoon of Saturday, April 12.

Andre is the daughter of Marcy and Felicia Lyons of Crowley. Cody is the son of Eddie and Danette Bruce of Rayne.

For the shower, Andre chose a white cocktail-length dress and completed her outfit with navy blue heels and jewelry. She was presented with a lovely corsage of light pink roses accented with greenery.

A wreath adorned with the letter “B” in honor of the bride-elect’s future surname hung on the door, welcoming entering guests. The hall, decorated in light pink and ivory, was filled with fresh flowers. A large arrangement designed by a local florist was the centerpiece, with freshly cut garden flowers topping all of the tables.

Photographs of the bride-elect and her prospective groom graced the refreshment and gift tables.

Guests enjoyed a large variety of finger foods, including cheese dip, sandwiches, a fruit and vegetable tray, Havarti cheese with pecan praline sauce and special meatballs prepared by the prospective groom’s grandmother, as well as homemade punch, coffee and soft drinks. 

For desert, the hostesses served a two-tier shower cake with raspberry mousse filling, along with a variety of other sweets. 

There were nearly 60 guests in attendance, with a number of them having travelled from across the state for the event.

A special guest honored at the shower was Anna Fruge, the great-aunt of the bride-to-be.

The shower was hosted by Jenna Bouillion, Celeste Dupuis, Anna Fruge, Mandy LeBleu, Olivia Lyons, Samantha Lyons, Annette Meaux, Heidi Meaux, Jade Meaux, Laticia Meaux, Monica Meaux, Elise Miller, Tiffany Miller and Tori Nero.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Miller of Iota, and Mr. and Mrs. Marcy Lyons of Crowley. The prospective groom’s maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Theogene Meaux of Rayne. His paternal grandparents are Ms. Laura Lane Bruce and Mr. and Mrs. Silas Bruce, all of Cecelia.

Andre and Cody will be wed on the evening of Saturday, May 10, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley. Fr. Gary Schexnayder will officiate the 6:30 p.m. nuptials.

Following their wedding, the couple will reside in Rayne.
