Katherine Lynn Rothermel

Rothermel, Hubbard engaged to wed Feb. 7

Katherine Lynn Rothermel of New Orleans and Damian Paul Hubbard of Crowley have announced that they are engaged and committed to be wed on the evening of Saturday, Feb. 7.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Kurt Rothermel of Crowley. Her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Duplechin of Lake Charles, and her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Rothermel of Lake Charles and the late Rhea Kahre Rothermel.

Katherine graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in 2006 before attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences in 2010. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at LSU Health Science Center and will graduate in May.

The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gibson of Cankton and Mr. Ferdara “Mark” Hubbard of Carencro. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Gossen Sr. of Roberts Cove, Ms. Virginia Thibodeaux Moore of Carencro and Mr. Stirling Hubbard of Lafayette.

Damien is a 2006 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and a 2011 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental and sustainable resources. He is presently employed by J.M. Burguieres Co. as a natural resource specialist.

The couple will be wed at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley. Fr. Michael Polson will conduct the 7 p.m. service.
