Afternoon baby shower honors mother-to-be

RAYNE - The Crossing at Mervine Kahn was the setting on Sunday, Aug. 31, for a baby shower held in honor of Chasity and Francois Francis of Rayne.

The former Chasity Mier is the daughter of Gregory and Sheila Mier of Rayne, maternal grandparents-to-be.

Paternal grandparents-to-be are Cheryl Minix and Walter Francois of Rayne.

Hosting the afternoon courtesy were Cynthia Mier, Keosha Francis, Cheryl Menard, Monique Faucheux, Meghan Hunt, Blanche Guidry and Ashlei Citizen.

Approximately 50 guests were served a variety of refreshments including sandwich rolls, boudin, meatballs, sausage, deviled eggs, chicken wings, chips and dips, cookies and beverages.

For the special occasion, the honoree wore a turquoise and white sundress and was presented a white and blue shoulder corsage.

The new family addition is due in late September.
