Couple announces spring wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Percy J. Melancon and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Potts announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Layne Melancon, to Mr. Sebastian Alvarez, son of Mrs. Anita Alvarez and the late Mr. Jairo Alvarez of Baton Rouge. The couple will be married on Friday, May 8, 2015, at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Baton Rouge.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leo Melancon of Rayne, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude B. Ezell of Baton Rouge.
Ms. Melancon is a graduate of Parkview Baptist School in Baton Rouge and attended Louisiana State University. She is currently a Realtor with Remax First in Baton Rouge.
The bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mario Alvarez of Medellín, Colombia in South America, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel Velez of Medellín, Colombia in South America.
Mr. Alvarez is a graduate of Bishop Sullivan School in Baton Rouge, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University. He is an owner and land developer with Alvarez Construction in Baton Rouge.
