Descendants gather for Constantin family reunion
The Rayne Civic Center mural room was the setting on Sunday, May 25, 2014, for a family reunion for descendants of the late Ozema and Anaise Richard Constantin.
The Rayne couple were the parents of 10 children, Mayo, Isaac, Wilson, Ophe, Homer, Sidney, Bernice, Woodleyt, Edith and Irene, in addition to 22 grandchildren.
The eldest family member in attendance for the reunion was 90-year-old Ena Constantin of Rayne.
The youngest family member in attendance was Isaac Stutes, one-month-old son of Derek and Laura Stutes of Lake Charles.
Traveling the farthest to attend the reunion was Bernice (Buddy) Constantin of Gainesville, Florida.
Reunion committee members were Carl Stutes, Mary Constantin Daigle, Sharon Constantin and MIke Constantin.
Family members and guests enjoyed a mid-day meal of barbeque along with all the sides and assorted desserts.
Entertainment was provided by the Pooh Yie Rambling Playboys Band featuring the Grand Pon Pon including Carl Stutes, Darrel Stutes and Terry Stutes.
Included in the decorations for the reunion were a number of family pictures including the family’s history.
Approximately 85 family members were in attendance from Rayne, Crowley, Lake Charles, Sulphur, and points of Texas, Arkansas and Florida.
