Kibodeaux family reunion held in Indian Bayou

The home of Glen and Sadie Richard in Indian Bayou was the setting on April 26, 2014, for a family reunion where descendants of Joseph and Ina Monceaux Kibodeaux gathered for a day-long social.

Joseph was born in Rayne on July 25, 1907 to Caden and Francois Kibodeaux where he resided until his death on April 14, 1980.

Ina was born on July 25, 1913 to Clophos and Nora Monceaux and resided in Rayne until her death on March 7, 2006.

Their children include L.J. Kibodeaux Sr. of Bogalusa (DOB 7-16-40), John Kibodeaux Sr. of Rayne, Ina Marie K. Mouton of New Iberia, and JoAnn K. Constantin of Indian Bayou.

Most of the couple’s 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren were also in attendance for the reunion.

Members of the oldest generation in attendance for the reunion were JoAnn K. Constantin and Ina Marie K. Mouton (oldest at 68 years).

The youngest family member in attendance was Jade River Askman, seven-month-old daughter of Shaena and Cory Acjman of Lafayette.

Traveling the farthest to attend the reunion were Karen and Kenny Steele of Ocean Springs, Miss.

Reunion committee members were Marie K. Mouton and Teri K. Peltier.

Family members and guests enjoyed barbecue, jambalaya, shrimp etouffee, and various fingerfoods and desserts.

Over 50 family members were in attendance from numerous points of Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi.
