Laureate Mu plans Founder’s Day

Members of Laureate Mu Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met at the Crowley home of Nancy Tislow on Tuesday, April 1.

Tislow led members in an enjoyable game of “Beta Bingo,” which assisted them reviewing the traditions of the organization. 

In communications from International, Vice President Shirley Griffin announced that Lynn Terry’s book,  “The Stars Shine Through,” signed by the members of the International staff, had been received. Laureate Mu Chapter members will sign the book and present it to the family of late Laureate Mu Chapter member Jane Love.

Members reported that they had enjoyed the group’s March 17 trip to the museum in Erath, which included a stop in Abbeville for lunch on the way.

Plans were made to tour the Bayou Rum distillery in Lacassine on April 22.

Plans were made to mark Beta Sigma Phi’s Founder’s Day on April 30 at the Town Club with Eta Kappa. 

Members brought spray bleach cleaner to be delivered to Miss Helen’s Soup Kitchen and were asked to bring toilet tissue for the soup kitchen to the May meeting.

The hostess served delicious refreshments to those  present, including Glenda Atkinson, Gloria Cart, Shirley Griffin, Jean Hanks, Connie Jaubert, Brenella Joubert and Gloria Stutes.
