Mrs. McBride is the former Audrey Leonards. The couple was married on Saturday, Oct. 26, 1963, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley.

Audrey is a retired Registered Nurse, but still works part-time. Michael is currently employed as the manager of Evangeline State Bank in Crowley.

The McBrides were blessed with four children, Michael T. McBride, who is married to Stephanie McBride; Tim McBride; Colleen McBride Mickal, who is married to Tim Mickal; and Kevin McBride, who is married to Teri McBride.

They are the proud grandparents of Garrett, Catherine and Amelia Mickal; Steffan, Michaela and Hayden McBride; and Justin and Kaylie McBride.

On the Sunday the 27th, the McBride family attended Mass at St. Michael before renewing their marriage vows in the church.

Afterwards, they adjourned to The Ballroom in Crowley for an early afternoon reception. The venue was decorated with raintree blossoms, which were what the McBrides used to decorate for their wedding 50 years ago.

The cake was an exact replica of the McBrides’ original wedding cake, and it was topped with the 50-year old golden cross that topped the cake on their wedding day.

Five of the couple’s original wedding attendants were present for the event, including bridal attendants Lucille Leonards Chisholm, Mary Gayle Hensgens Iverson and Judy Meyn Weimer and groomsmen Edward Adam and Stephen Leonards.

Nearly 130 people attended the celebration, including guests who had traveled from Tennessee, Texas and various points throughout Louisiana.
