Miss Crowley pageant contestants announced

Miss Crowley Pageant to be held at the Grand Opera House of the South Saturday, July 26

The judges of this year’s Miss Crowley pageant competitions have difficult jobs ahead of them in selecting the new Miss Crowley, Teen Miss Crowley and Junior Miss Crowley. A total of nineteen contestants have entered the pageant, with nine vying for Miss Crowley and five each competing for Teen Miss Crowley and Junior Miss Crowley.

The Miss Crowley Pageant, organized by the Crowley Professional Women’s Club, will be held at the Grand Opera House of the South on Saturday, July 26, at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. and tickets are general admission, $15.

Morgan Faith Delome is the 17-year-old daughter of Vernon and Christy Delome. She stands 5’4” tall and has dark brown hair and green eyes. Currently a senior at Iota High School with plans to graduate in 2015, Morgan works as a cashier at Crowley Cinema IV. She is Iota High School’s Class of 2015 vice president, the Culinary Club president, and an active member of Christians in Action. She is the head photographer for the Year Book Club, and has been a Golden Girl Dancer for two years and the manager for one year. She has received a B certificate and dance certificates. She also participated in the social studies and science fairs. She placed second in District Literary Rally for family and consumer science and had all A’s and B’s in English II. She has attended youth camp, student action leadership training as a kid’s counselor, staff for GodMade 2013 and a retreat in Alexandria. She plans to attend Louisiana Academy of Beauty to pursue a career in cosmetology. Morgan is very involved in her church and she enjoys photography, photo editing, drawing, singing and dancing.  She also enjoys music, movies, shopping and spending time with family and friends. Sponsoring Morgan is Bank of Commerce. 

Julian Rene Devillier is the 19-year-old daughter of Sean and Sonia Devillier. Standing 5 feet, 4 inches, tall, she has dark black hair and dark brown eyes. While in high school, Julian was a member of the Beta Club, the volleyball and track teams and the Gifted and Talented Program in Acadia Parish. Her honors and awards include Student of the Year nomination, Pio of the Month, Best Lead Actress Scholarship, Acadia Players Scholarship, State Championship volleyball team, Performance Award Scholarship, and ULL Centennial Scholarship.  She is currently a student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in performing arts with a concentration in dance and is a member of Chi Tau Epsilon dance honor society. Julian was a volunteer choreographer for Dancing with the Stars, Eucharistic minister, volunteer funeral vocalist for low income families, and organizer of the first “Little Free Library” in Acadia Parish. She enjoys reading, dancing, singing, playing piano, decorating and everything Disney. She also loves spending time with family. Julian has been the National Anthem singer for Notre Dame, LSU and ULL. She has recorded Amazing Grace in French and English, and is the personal chauffeur for her little sister. Her sponsor for this year’s pageant is Rice City Gymnastics.

Kathryn Shea Duncan is the 18-year-old daughter of Kathy and Shea Duncan. Standing 5’4” tall, she has brown hair and brown eyes. She is a 2014 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and major in accounting.  At UL-L she is involved in the University Program Council and Soul Camp. While in high school, she was a member of the Speech and Drama Club, Beta Club and Campus Ministry. She received the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Distinguished Freshman Scholarship, Crowley Rotary Club Scholarship, Rayne State Bank Scholarship and Fanny Edith Winn Scholarship. She also received course awards for accounting, housing and interior design and nutrition. Kathryn placed second at District Rally in nutrition and third place at theology fair. She attended Louisiana Youth Seminar, went on a mission trip to Costa Rica and participated in March for Life in Washington, D.C.  She volunteers for many organizations, including International Rice Festival, Faith House, Habitat for Humanity, vacation bible school, Operation Christmas Child and Notre Dame’s Tasting Bee Extravaganza for Haiti mission work. In her spare time she enjoys photography, travel, reading, speaking gibberish and spending time with her godchild. Her sponsor for this year is Iberia Bank.

McKenzie Lane Jabusch is the 18-year-old daughter of Bryan and Debbie Jabusch. Standing 5 feet, 6 inches, tall, she has brown hair and brown eyes.  She plans to graduate from South Louisiana Community College in December 2014 as a medical assistant. She is currently employed as a tumbling instructor at Tumbling Tots and Teens. While in high school, McKenzie was involved in several sports, including basketball, volleyball and track. She was also in the Drama Club, Renaissance Club, 4-H Club and volunteered as a peer tutor.  McKenzie was an Honor Graduate and was awarded the Pink Lady Scholarship. She placed fifth in javelin at the state track meet and volunteered as a Special Olympics mentor. She takes an active part in vacation bible school and the live nativity at her church. She also cleans up and decorates at church during the holidays and helps coordinate dances for Down syndrome individuals. In her spare time, McKenzie enjoys gymnastics, swimming, mudriding, riding dirt bikes, fun night with children 10 and under, pageants, acting, modeling and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys hunting, fishing, crabbing, crawfishing, farming and leveling bins. Her sponsor for this year is Quality Equipment.

Madison Elizabeth LeJeune is the 18-year-old daughter of Marcus and Natalie LeJeune and Debbie Stelly. Standing 5 feet, 6 inches, tall, she has dark brown hair and brown eyes. Madison attends Crowley High School and was a member of the color guard all 4 years, serving as captain her junior and senior years. She is also involved in Student Council, FFA and the Acadia Parish CHOICES program. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, gardening and participating in color guard. She also enjoys dancing, music (especially 80’s), building projects in ag and dairy testing. Her sponsor for this year’s pageant is First National Bank.

 Courtney Ann Miller is the 18-year-old daughter of Thomas and Christine Miller. She stands 5’8” tall and has blonde hair and blue eyes. She is a 2014 graduate of Iota High School and is currently employed at Mr. Gatti’s pizza. While in high school, she was a member of the Beta Club, yearbook staff, and Library Club. She was an honor graduate and received the Jostens Scholarship and ServSafe certification. She plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and major in engineering. Courtney enjoys swimming, drawing, running, working out, attending church, helping the elderly and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys music, shopping, reading, doing hair and make-up, modeling and watching movies. Courtney’s sponsor for this year is Mr. Gatti’s Pizza.

Madison Brianne Morgan is the 18-year-old daughter of Danielle Trahan and Brennan Morgan. Standing 5 feet, 4 inches, tall, she has brown hair and hazel and brown eyes. She is a 2014 graduate of Midland High School and is currently employed as a receptionist at LaSpiaggia Day Spa.  While in high school, Madison was a member of the Student Council and served as the class secretary for two years and treasurer one year. She was also a member of the FFA, where she served as secretary for three years. She received the all A’s and B’s award all four years of high school, Student Council awards for three years, color guard captain awards for three years and nursing program of 2010 award. Madison plans to attend Louisiana State University and major in psychology. She volunteers for can food drives for youth religion, goes to town meetings, worked at the Morse Recreational Festival and worked the Midland band booth for the International Rice Festival. Her hobbies include painting, exercising, shopping, socializing with people, riding bikes, organizing and planning fun activities, softball and always having fun. Madison is interested in understanding drug addictions, what can trigger addictions, causes and ways to overcome drug abuse. Madison’s sponsor for this year is LaSpiaggia Day Spa. 

Rebecca Lynn Roy is the 18-year-old daughter of Roderick and Rhoda Roy. Standing 5’2” tall, she has brown hair and brown eyes. She is a 2014 graduate of Midland High School and is currently employed as a waitress at Crawfish Time. While in high school, Rebecca was a four-year cheerleader and cheered for the Class B state championship. She was a member of the Beta Club, 4-H Club, Student Council where she served as secretary, and senior class vice-president. She was also the FCCLA representative at national convention. Rebecca was on the 2014 Homecoming Court and 2014 Valentine Court. She was an honor graduate and received the Academic Excellence Award and TOPS Scholarship. She was awarded an academic jacket, All- American Cheerleader Award and cheer jump-off winner. Rebecca completed dual enrollment college courses during her senior year. She plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and major in pre-dental hygiene. She is a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and attended 2013 Catholic Youth Retreat. She prepared and delivered food to the needy and visited the veterans’ home. She was the senior representative/model for Lela K photography. In her spare time she enjoys fishing in Toledo Bend and most recently frogging with her friends. She also likes to read, cook, care for small children and spend time with friends and family. Her sponsor for this year is Arc of Acadiana. 

Nicole Claire Taylor is the 17-year-old daughter of Chris and Missy Taylor. Standing 5 feet, 3 inches, tall, she has brown hair and brown eyes. She is currently attending Crowley High School and is employed as a personal assistant at T.F. Services. She is involved in Student Council, newspaper staff, prom committee and Acadia Parish CHOICES Program. She is also involved in several sports including cross country, football trainer and track manager. She was awarded the Rotary Youth Leadership award and honor roll for three years. Nicole placed first at District Literary Rally in environmental science and placed second in the International Rice Festival Run. She has taught at St. Michael Vacation Bible School for two years, attended Steubenville on the Bayou in Houma for three years and participated in St. Michael Youth Choir for two years. Nicole has attended St. Michael Youth Group for five years and a lector for St. Michael Church. Nicole plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and major in sports medicine and motivational speaking. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys playing with animals, working with young children and helping younger boys and girls with sports. She is also interested in shopping, reading, running and spending time with friends and family. Her sponsor for this year’s pageant is Acadiana Smiles.
