NAUW Royalty Pageant contestants announced
The National Association of University Women - Crowley Branch will host its 34th Annual Royalty Pageant at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at Ambassador Ministries Royal Hall in Crowley.
The public is invited to attend. Door prizes will be awarded and light refreshments will be served.
Among the contestants vying for the titles of Master and Miss Tiny Tot NAUW and Little Master and Little Miss NAUW are the following:
Jer’mynee Andrus is the 2-year-old daughter of Mary Broussard and Jerrell Andrus. She attends St. Theresa Catholic Church and she enjoys writing, playing with toys and riding in her car. She is sponsored by Betty M. Gums.
Ty’Rihana J. Clark is 6 years old and is the daughter of Tyresha Clark. She attends school at Crowley Kindergarten and church at First Church of God in Christ. She likes dancing, going to Sunday School and reading books, and her sponsor is Cynthia Winbush.
McKenzi L. Gums, the daughter of Joni Gums, is 2 years old. She attends St. Matthews Baptist Church and she enjoys playing basketball and baseball, watching movies and listening to music. She is sponsored by Betty Gums.
Destiny Zoe Jones is the 11-year-old daughter of Hilda Jones and is a sixth-grade student at Spirit of Liberty School. Destiny attends Spirit of Liberty Church and her hobbies include singing, reading, dance and writing poetry. Hilda Jones is her sponsor.
Erianna LeBlanc is 10 years old and is the daughter of Jennifer Johnson and Eric LeBlanc Sr. She is a fifth-grade student at Ross Elementary and attends St. Joseph Baptist Church. She enjoys singing, dancing, cheering, writing and cooking and is sponsored by Myrtle Cain.
Khaelin A. Sampson is 5 years old and is the daughter of Whitney Robinson and Walter Sampson. She is a student at Crowley Kindergarten and attends Israelite Baptist Church. She likes riding her bike, skating, playing with her sister and gymnastics. Martha Williams is her sponsor.
Amari P. Scott is the daughter of Elouise Byers and Arthur J. Scott and is 9 years old. She is in the third grade at Ross Elementary and attends St. Joseph Baptist Church. Her hobbies include playing softball, dancing and singing and she is sponsored by Shelda Kelso.
D’ziyree Thorne is the 7-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rakeem Thorne and is a second-grade student at Ross Elementary. She attends Israelite Baptist Church and enjoys reading, writing, singing and dancing. She is sponsored by Dr. Ezora J. Proctor.
De’Liyah A. Williams, the daughter of LaTanya Senegal and Alfred Williams, is 5 years old. She is a student at Rayne Central School and attends Faith Missionary Baptist Church. She likes to play house and dance and Dr. Ezora J. Proctor is her sponsor.
Joniah Williams is 5 years old and is the daughter of Teal Jolivette and Richard Williams. She is in kindergarten at Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy and attends Crossroads Church. She likes to dance and her sponsor is Charron Moore.
Jada Ma’Rae Faith Young, who is 3 years old, is the daughter of Wilbert Joseph Jr. and the late Chyna Joy Young. She attends school at Ross Head Start and church at Israelite Baptist. She enjoys reading, singing and playing with her doll house. She is sponsored by Cheryl S. Lewis.
RaSheed Charles is the son of Jepperdy Jones and Christopher Charles and is 8 years old. He is in the third grade at North Crowley Elementary and attends Israelite Baptist Church. RaSheed’s hobbies include basketball and video games and Meridian Vallery is his sponsor.
Zalene Meche is the 8-year-old son of Jennifer Johnson. He attends Ross Elementary and St. Joseph Baptist Church, and he likes reading and cheerleading. He is sponsored by Myrtle Cain.
