Alumni of Rayne High returned to school last week for a number Homecoming Week programs and activities.
Graduates of classes ending in “3” were honored during a number of events and programs, especially on Friday - Homecoming Day events - which were dedicated to these former students.
On Thursday, Oct. 10, the annual Homecoming Parade was held, beginning at Central Kindergarten and ending at Rayne High, where the Annual Powder Puff Football Game began at 7 p.m.
Friday’s schedule of events included: Alumni Reception in school library; Pep Rally in north gym; Homecoming football game against Morgan City High School; Halftime introduction of Homecoming Court and crowning of 2013 Homecoming Queen.
Honored during the Friday morning Alumni Reception were returning alumni. Among those in attendance were:
Class of 1943 - Ted Doucet and W.F. Laurents, welcomed by RHS principal Wendell Prudhomme and former RHS principal James Proctor.
Class of 1953 - Natalie Quebodeaux, Clara Ann Lalande Avant, Sr. Gilbert Martin, Larena Besse, Ricks Comeaux, Donald Faulk, Yvonne Nickel, Ginny Rousel, Berniel Mire and Milton Mire.
Class of 1963 - Patricia Leger, Tony Leger, Barbara Foreman, Mary Alice Guidry Leger, Richard Pharr, Raymond Leon, Ronnie Matte, Pat Prejean, James Perrodin and Lorraine Daigle Lasage.
Class of 1973 - Ellen Breaux Guidry, Patricia Smith Douglas, Betty Bourque, Katherine Johnson, Edra Kelly Broussard, Lee Hebert, Bonnie Johnson, Wanda Thibodeaux, Cindy LeBlanc, Gerald Regan, Margaret Jolivette Reed, Romel Charles, Eva Jean Yokum Minix and Cheryl Holstead Suiter.
