Local church hosts district mini-congress

The Seventh District Missionary Baptist Association District Mini-Congress of Christian Education was held at Starlight Baptist Church, on October 15-16, reports Pastor reports Rev. Nathan T. Stevens, pastor.
A healthy breakfast and snacks were available on each day of the conference.  
The Mini-Conference consisted of Christian leadership instructors and courses:  Introduction to Old Testament, Rev. Carl White; Survey of Romans, Rev. John Mark Stevens; Survey of Revelations, Dr. Freddie Jack; and Teaching your Teachers how to teach, Rev. Samuel Lofton.
On Wednesday, President Freddie Jack presented a warm-heartfelt greeting then Rev. Johnny Thomas of Ville Platte rendered an awesome lecture.   
A delicious lunch was provided at 12 noon at Union Hall by Starlight Baptist Church. Classes resumed at 1:15 p.m. and ended at 6 p.m.
The order of the day on Thursday, Oct. 16, opened with remarks from President Gerald W. Perkins, Sr.  followed by the worship service lead by  Rev. Carl Sonnier.  Pastor Donald Burnette, Sr. (instructor) presented a compelling Bible lesson.  Vice-President at Large Freddie J. Jack delivered a dynamic sermon.  
A lunch was again provided at 12:15  p.m. in Union Hall by Starlight Baptist Church.
Departmental meetings were held from 1:35–2:05 p.m. and were followed by a business meeting.  
Expressions of gratitude to the host church and a closing song and Benediction culminated the conference.
The Seventh District Missionary Baptist Association Mini-Congress of Christian Education was amazing as always with an attendance of over 70 participants!
Each course was enjoyable, exciting and inspirational, notes Pastor Stevens. Instructors were very knowledgeable of their subject area.  The biblical knowledge gained will benefit the lives of people in their various communities, he said.
The Starlight Baptist Church family thanked all pastors, churches, attendees and instructors who contributed in making the Mini-Congress a success.  A special thanks  was expressed who aided in ensuring the success of the Christian educational event.
