Events, programs planned for month of October

The Sisters of A&O 21st Century Club would like to announce their second annual “Rayne In Pink,” a breast cancer awareness march and fun day.

The public event is planned for Saturday, Oct. 26, for the general public.

The march will begin at 9 a.m. at the Depot Square and end at the Frog Festival Pavillion at the Frog Festival grounds, where the fun day of events will be held, along with a special "Pink" bike raffle.

The month of events began Friday, Oct. 4, with a street drive to help raise funds for the event.

The Sisters will also sponsor a silent auction, raffle for a breast cancer bike, free food, music and fun. Door prizes will also be given away.

All proceeds of the day will be donated to Komen of Acadiana, and Miles Peret Center of Lafayette.

Please come out and participate in the march and fun day and support breast cancer awareness.

Remember, every 68 seconds, someone dies from breast cancer.
