2015 Flower Show Hosted by Garden Club

The Rayne Garden Club hosted its 2015 Annual Flower Show, “Outside The Box,” on Friday, April 24, at Rayne City Hall.
Chairperson Lisa Soileaux, co-chairpersons Josette Habetz and Sepha Guidry, honorary chairperson/club president Julia Breaux, and Rayne Garden Club members welcomed guests during the public viewing and afternoon tea between the hours of 12 noon and 4 p.m. at Rayne City Hall.
Creative floral designs were on display in the lobby area, while a number of horticultural cuttings and plantings were viewed in the Council Chambers.
Winners in their categories included the following:
Designer’s Choice Overall Award: Lisa Soileaux.
Creative Line Design: 1st place Lisa Soileaux, 2nd place Josette Habetz, 3rd place Bonnie Ousse, honorable mention Margaret Comeaux.
Parallel Design: 1st place Sepha Guidry, 2nd place Julia Breaux, 3rd place Martha Pierret, honorable mention Jeanette Daigle.
Abstract Design: 1st place Jude Guidry, 2nd place Margaret Comeaux, 3rd place Chris Simpson, honorable mention Dianne Sonnier.
Traditional Line Mass: 1st place Lisa Soileaux, 2nd place Sepha Guidry, 3rd place Genny Marks, honorable mention Fran Bihm.
Overall horticultural winners in Division II of the entire flower show were: Award of Horticultural Excellence - Bonnie Ousse; Award of Merit: Bonnie Ousse (2) and Josette Habetz; Arboreal Award: Antonia Hoffpauir.
Special thanks to the City of Rayne for their assistance for this year’s flower show, Mayor and Mrs. Chuck Robichaux, members of the City Hall staff, in addition to the many visitors who attended the show.
