Rayne Frog Festival Queen’s Pageants this weekend
RAYNE - It’s going to be a royal affair when the 2016 Rayne Frog Festival Queen, Teen, and Ms. Queen Pageants will be held on Saturday, March 19, at the Rayne Civic Center at 6:30 p.m.
The annual “Frog Ball” is sponsored by the Rayne Chamber of Commerce and will provide guests with entertainment, food, drinks, and door prizes.
During the celebration, the Chamber will announce the 2016 Frog Festival Grand Marshal, as well as reveal the official Rayne Frog Festival posters and t-shirts to purchase.
The competition for contestants consists of the following segments: interview, evening gown, and an on-stage question.
Royal properties to be awarded include beautiful customized frog crowns and banners for each new royalty.
Entries for the selected court members include: The Miss Queen receives an entry to the Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals Queen of Queens pageant; 1st Maid – entry to the International Rice Festival and silver tray; 2nd maid – entry to the Louisiana Fur and Wildlife Festival and silver tray; 3rd Maid – silver tray; and Miss Congeniality – silver tray.
Anyone interested in attending can contact the Rayne Chamber office at (337) 334-2332, where tickets will be available for purchase in advance for $8. On the night of the ball, tickets will be $10 at the door.

The Junior Frog Festival Queen's Pageant will be held earlier in the day beginning at 9 a.m. at the Rayne Civic Center. The new royalty will be introduced during the evening events.
