2014 Project Pink Pageants, raffle planned
Chairman Theresa Prather announces the 17th annual “Project Pink”, 2014 Breast Cancer Awareness event, will be held Saturday, October 4, at the Rayne Civic Center.
Raffle tickets are currently on sale for the “Angel of Hope” 12-inch Seraphim Angel valued at $175. This is a numbered, limited edition sculpted and delicately hand-painted angel. The winner will have a choice between the angel or $150 cash. There will also be numerous other prizes given in the raffle, along with door prizes and a silent auction.
A personal invitation is extended to all breast cancer survivors to join the day slated with activities.
The 7th annual “Miss Project Pink” Pageant will also be held at this time. The queens will hold titles for a year with their primary responsibility to inform others about the event and invite them to participate in this well-known breast cancer awareness event.
The “Children’s Categories” (younger than 13 years of age) will begin with registration at 9 a.m. and competition at 9:30 a.m. Attire will be sportswear and entry fee is $40 prior and $50 at the door. A $5 photogenic fee can be submitted with a photo in each category.
Senior categories will be offered for ladies 13 years of age and over. Formal wear is needed with only on-stage modeling -- no interview or onstage intro will be held. Entry fee is $50 prior and $60 at the door. A $5 photogenic fee can be submitted with a photo in each category.
Awards will include pink ribbon crowns and embroidered cotton banners for all age divisions.
For those attending, door entry is $5 adults, $3 children and free for 4 years and under.
