Acadia General contracts ER staff

acadia General Hospital has announced that it is partnering with Schumacher Group to staff its emergency room physicians effective Thursday, Oct. 30.

Schumacher Group is one of the nation’s largest health care resource providers.

AGH hopes Schumacher, a Lafayette-based Emergency and Hospital Medicine group, will help improve patient flow, efficiency and overall satisfaction.

AGH will incorporate some of the systematic approaches developed at the thousands of contracted providers Schumacher serves nationwide. 

Within the Lafayette General Health system, to which AGH belongs, Schumacher also provides ER physicians at Lafayette General Medical Center, University Hospital & Clinics and St. Martin Hospital.

Schumacher’s management is renowned for improving the quality of patient recordkeeping, ensuring appropriate tests and timely results, and establishing smooth billing and medical coding processes.

Heather Harper, CEO at AGH, said she is glad to have Schumacher on board and added the hospital will continue to explore industry best practices to provide faster, safer care to its emergency patients.
