Babineaux named person of interest in shooting

Crowley Police are investigating a shooting incident which occurred in the parking lot of Wal-Mart, located at 729 Odd Fellows Road.
Upon officers' arrival, it was determined that an individual had been shot in the parking lot of the business. The victim was transported to Acadia General Hospital and was transferred to a Lafayette Hospital in critical condition.
“Thus far our investigation has identified that this incident is an isolated incident. There is currently no reason to believe that this matter was random,” stated Chief KP Gibson.
Crowley Police have identified a person of interest in this shooting. This person is identified as Ronald Wayne Babineaux, 26, of Crowley. Babineaux’s last known address is believed to be in Northgate Apartments or possibly 1808 Cherry Street, both in Crowley. Babineaux is a black male, 5 feet, 8 inches in height, weighing 160 pounds. He has short hair and is believed to be clean shaven.
