Blood drive today in Iota
Acadia Parish residents are being called upon to help Miss Crowley and her family replenish the blood supply used during her recent illness.
According to a news release, Miss Crowley, Ali Hoffpauir, has been facing some serious medical issues since the fall of 2013. The good news is, Hoffpauir is recovering and in better health. She also continues to represent the city of Crowley.
The bad news, however, is that her treatment required the use of a large amount of blood and blood products from the Lourdes Blood Bank.
In an effort to replenish the supply for others who are in need of blood, there will be a blood drive in Hoffpauir’s name today, Feb. 23, from 8 a.m. to noon at St. Joseph’s Church in Iota.
The Hoffpauir family extends gratitude to all who donate blood. They, along with Miss Crowley pageant coordinators, ask anyone who is able to donate blood to come out and support the cause and Hoffpauir’s road to recovery.
Anyone with questions can contact me or Andre’ Hoffpauir at 789-0573.
