Changes effective Sept. 1

Ahead of the in effect date for the Community Eligibility Provision, Acadia Parish School District’s Child Nutrition Supervisor Adrianne Vidrine has outline the particulars of the program being instituted in 19 schools across the district.

The following schools will be participating in the provision of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs: Armstrong Middle, Central Rayne Kindergarten, Church Point Elementary, Church Point High, Church Point Middle, Crowley High, Crowley Kindergarten, Crowley Middle, Estherwood Elementary, Iota Elementary, Martin Petitjean Elementary, Mermentau Elementary, Mire Elementary, Morse Elementary, North Crowley Elementary, Rayne High, Ross Elementary, South Crowley Elementary and South Rayne Elementary.

“All enrolled students at the schools listed above are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the 2014-15 school year starting Sept. 1,” said Vidrine in a release to parents and guardians. “No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application.”

Vidrine reminded parents and guardians that  any meal charges incurred between Aug. 13 and Aug. 29 is the responsibility of the family’s household, however.
