Feast of St. Nicholas tradition observed in Roberts Cove

For parishioners of St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove, the tradition of celebrating the Feast of St. Nicholas was held Sunday, Dec. 6, the actual feast day of St. Nicholas. On that day, the young and not so young eagerly awaited the arrive of St. Nicholas, his helper and companion Black Peter and Santa Claus.
They were accompanied by members of the St. Leo Church Chori, who sang Christmas carols, mostly in German, while the trio visited the children.
This year, beginning at 3:30 p.m., the group visited the following homes: Pat and Ray Schneider; Kay and Charlie Habetz; Stella and Ray Morgan; Clem and Huey Kirsch; Mendie and Al Cramer; Loretta and Glenn Boudreaux; Bertha and Joe LaCombe; Jacie and Doug Valdetero, as well as the Gossen Farm.
Choir members expressed their thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome they received in all the home for the St. Nicholas celebration. They also thanked Jude Sittig with Southwind and Encore nursing centers for sponsoring the transportation.
