Former Senator Mike Michot is 'Network at Noon' speaker

This Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Crowley Town Club, former state Senator and Interim Executive Director of the I-49 Coalition Mike Michot will address  those in attendance.

Tickets for the event will be $15 which covers the costs of lunch.

Crowley Chamber of Commerce CEO Amy Thibodeaux, who’s group sponsors the event, was very excited about Michot’s appearance.

“We are looking forward to hearing Mr. Michot speak on Thursday,” said Thibodeaux. “The completion of I-49 south is very big for the economy of the Acadiana area. This interstate would connect us to an area of the state where the production of energy is prevalent as well as the businesses that are related to this industry.”

Michot represented the Lafayette area in the Louisiana Legislature for 16 years, retiring in 2012.

“The importance of I-49 South is evident and known to all of us,” wrote Michot in a press release. “The attraction that ‘America’s Energy Corridor’ would become to business and industry in terms of location and relocation goes without saying.

“Where interstates are, so is economic growth. Our region’s location is primed for major economic expansion.”
