Miller arrested in connection with Saturday homicide

Crowley Police have arrested a subject in connection with a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 30.
Marcus Miller, 18, of Rayne, was arrested by detectives with the Crowley Police Deparment on Monday, August 1, in connection with the shooting death of Jarai Andrus.
“Our detectives have been working tirelessly on this case to bring it to a conclusion. I applaud all of their efforts in what they have been doing that succeeding in bringing the charges in this homicide,” stated Crowley Chief of Police Jimmy Broussard. “Also, we are thankful to all of those who stepped up to assist us in bringing information on the case which helped lead to the arrest. This is evidence that when we work together as a community, we actually DO make a difference.”
Miller has been charged with one count of second-degree homicide, two counts of attempted second-degree homicide, two counts of aggravated kidnapping and two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. He is presently in the Acadia Parish Jail, under a total bond of $520,000.00 by District Judge David Smith.
Crowley Police is still investigating the incident, and further arrests are possible in this incident
