Monday night shooting leaves 1 injured

Schools on lock down

After a Monday night shooting, one is injured and schools are on lock down.
According to the Crowley Police Department, authorities are currently seeking shooting suspect near Kathy Meadows Apartments. Schools in the area were advised to lock down until further notice.
The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office adds that anyone in area of the apartments is asked to stay indoors and avoid area until further notice.
According to Sheriff Wayne A. Melancon, on Monday, May 9, at 10:57 p.m, the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to shots being fired at the Kathy Apartment Complex in Crowley.
Upon arrival, deputies found one male subject with
gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries and is listed in critical condition.
This investigation is still ongoing. Witnesses are being interviewed at this time. More details will be provided as they become available.
